At Schafer, we know that water safety is especially important for children with autism. We will be partnering with POAC, Autism Services (POAC.net) to provide swim lessons and water safety programming to families of children with special needs. The program will be held at Schafer Sports Center on the following Sundays in 2019: March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
The program will be for parent and child which will require at least one parent to be in the water during the class. The classes are scheduled to be half an hour long. All children that are NOT toilet trained will be required to wear a swim diaper and a reusable rubber or cloth diaper as a means to avoid accidents in the pool. Please note that if your child doesn’t have the required pool wear, they will not be able to participate. Please remember to bring a towel, change of clothes and goggles/ear plugs if that makes your child more comfortable. We do have changing rooms for your use.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at 609-393-5855 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The classes are limited in space per age group so please register soon. The age groups will be 3-7 and 8 and up. There is a $20 registration fee due at the time of registration for this event. Other class enrollment fees (for child and family) stated on the registration page do not apply.
